TENTERDEN INFANT and JUNIOR SCHOOL CATERING

School Meals Policy

 April 2008

To enable the Joint Catering Committee of Tenterden Infant School and Tenterden CE Junior School to continue the high standard of its school lunch service, it has become necessary to amend our School Meals Policy. This policy is to ensure that the Catering Team continue to provide carefully considered menu options for the children and that all parents make prompt payment for meals.

School Meals Policy

  • The Catering Manager will continue to source local, fresh produce and ingredients for the lunches it provides and ensure that a balanced diet is available for all children. He will also ensure that the school complies with all legislation concerning food standards

  • The Catering Manager will aim to cater for any children with special dietary requirements.

  • To facilitate the above, lunch money must be paid a minimum of one week in advance (i.e. by the Monday morning of the week any meals are required).

  • A Statement of Account will be sent at regular intervals to those parents with outstanding debt.

  • Where debt remains unpaid parents will be contacted by the Catering Manager/Headteacher in order to discuss the non payment and to determine if children will be subsequently provided with hot meals or whether they will be required to bring a packed lunch
